lyrics

Verse 1:

I'm a student of life man I can't play truant
to drop out means death man and ending up ruined
So I read between the lines as I'm pursuing
knowledge and wisdom that's what I'm doing
I'm also spreading the message of the Kingdom
that Kingdom that is here and will soon come
Some think that's gruesome to me that's awesome
I hold up my cup Lord will you pour some
of that new wine now let me raise a toast
Let's clink glasses as I make my boast
in the one that we should praise the most
The Most High who is close by the Lord of hosts
the one who has blessed me with the gift to uplift
I shine like a streetlight on this night shift
sweet sounds coming down as my lines hit
my soundcloud is filled you're delighted
flammable thoughts have been ignited
I feel fire in my belly as I write this
they say this is a young man's game
but to me this is not a game as I speak flames
2nd childhood, extended adolescence
you feel growing pains when time robs your innocence
I'm trying to make sense of what seems senseless
the only option is to be relentless

Verse 2:

I guess transformation takes time
not a few seconds like Optimus Prime
for everyday people with arrested development (Speech!)
fishing for religion from those with private jets
who swear to God they are heaven sent
Some haven't got heaven's scent, a heavy stench
I perceive when they speak with dragon's breath
some speak life and some speak death
so I pulled the plug, I did disconnect
from the system so I could reflect
the man in the mirror I did inspect
I asked myself am I moonwalking I confess
It's not easy to face your own flaws
when your ego is such an eyesore
but if you look deeper, you'll see what I saw
not with my eyes but by faith from my core.
I see The Lord, on the throne seated
giving grace to the humble and resisting the conceited
those too proud to admit grace is needed
in this war they're already defeated
self-examination, do you pass your own test?
most times I fail mine I must confess
but I sing like Mahalia because I'm blessed
and that's the way i get all the weights off my chest!

I wanna sing like Mahalia la la
